Rhinebeck Part I...The Humans

Still reeling from my amazing time at the NY Sheep and Wool Festival! I met so many cool knitters AND animals that this post needs to be broken into two parts. First, the humans...

The talented Ann Weaver of WeaverKnits handselling her new book of patterns, Craft Work Knit with Chris modeling a WeaverKnits original, together with my partner in crime, craftivore. Without craftivore's mad driving skills, navigation savvy, and organic apricots I don't think I ever would have made it farther than the grocery store at the end of the block. Thanks craftivore!

Walking around with her was like being with a rock star. Her "The Owl and The Pussycat Dress" drew stares and had people following us all over the fairgrounds. Here she is being shot by Gale Zucker, famous photographer to the wool world.

The fun sisters Deborah and Mary Beth with their Sockhead Hats!

A girl who really loves her yarn...

Another girl who really loves The Owl and The Pussycat... and fortunately ran into craftivore...

And a coveted ravelry party cupcake!

There were so many more people I met and enjoyed! But now the knitting (and Mad Men) calls...next time, my furry friends take over the blog.

Rhinebeck, Here I Come!

I've been hearing about "Rhinebeck" for a couple of years now from my friend craftivore, much like you'd hear about the lost city of Atlantis, so I decided that it was time to pack up the needles and hit the road! I'll also be playing Rhinebeck Bingo as a player and a square, so here are some colors and clues for those who are visiting the site to scout out information:

We just got back from a quick, wonderful trip to NYC, and I had to share a couple of highlights. Barbara Kruger's installation at the future site of the Whitney Museum:

Brooklyn Farmacy, a fantastic old-fashioned soda fountain in Brooklyn:

And our big star sighting, especially for the fashionistas out there. Can you guess who this is?
